Indianapolis, Indiana based wedding and portrait photographer

OUR
STORY
My background began at Purdue University where I graduated with a bachelors in nursing. This led me to a 12 year career in Indy at St. Vincent hospital, with 10 of those years spent in the ICU. In the early years of my career, I became a mom which inspired me to purchase a nice camera and devote my time to learning how to capture those little moments of her life. As time went on, and 2 more kids later, I flourished my passion into a career that has opened many doors and opportunities for myself and my family. I believe nursing was always a part of my journey to lead me to where I am today and I am so thankful for the time and wisdom I gained from my years at the bedside.
I have now been a photographer since 2012 and have captured more than 200 weddings, and thousands of portrait sessions. I have gotten close with many of my wedding clients and have been lucky enough to follow their journey into parenthood. That I think is the best part of this job.
I would describe my style as timeless, bold, documentary, story telling, and clean in regards to editing. I am very efficient at what I do and very confident in my work which in turn allows me to serve my clients to the best of my ability.
When I'm not taking photos + editing, I'm traveling with my husband + kiddos, screaming {rooting if you want to call it} at my kids' soccer games, crime junkie researching, DIY'ing my entire house and trying to be an interior designer on the side {ha}, and most of all living life to the fullest. My family and I immigrated to the United States when I was 7 from Belarus and I really try to count my blessings every day.
Thank you for reading a little about me...I would love to learn about you!
ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Becky! The photographer. The editor. The email writer, styler, website designer, you name it, I wear the hat. I am a natural light photographer that takes the documentary approach in anything that I photograph. From weddings to newborns to families and any other portrait session. My journey began at Purdue University where I met the love of my life and future husband my freshman year and then went on to graduate with a bachelors in nursing and get married in 2009, at the age of 22. Yes, we were that crazy, young, and in love couple. The best part of the story is that after receiving our parents blessings, we eloped in Maui, bought a house the following year and then started our journey into parenthood. Moving along, I was fortune enough to spend my entire {12 years} nursing career at St. Vincent hospital working in the adult ICU. After giving birth to my first daughter, I bought a nice camera and really fell in love with taking photos, especially those that brought out the emotion in a person or story. As time went on, and 2 more kids later, I flourished my passion into a career that has opened many doors and opportunities for myself and my family. The best opportunity of all being that I got to put in my 2 weeks notice in at the hospital and never look back. It's been an incredible journey to be a part of.
I have now been a photographer since 2012 and have captured more than 200 weddings, thousands of portrait sessions, and a slew of miscellaneous, sometimes regretful, photo endeavors. I have been lucky enough to call many of my clients friends throughout the years, and I love that I get to document a growing family from the moment they say "yes!" and beyond.
I would describe my style as timeless, bold, documentary, story telling, warm, and clean in regards to editing. I am not your light and airy nor am I a dark and moody photographer. I love blurry, I love grain, I love magical light. I love LOVE. If it's weird and awkward, I want to document it. Because, I too, am weird and awkward.
When I'm not taking photos or editing, I'm traveling with my husband + kiddos, screaming {rooting if you want to call it} at my kids' soccer games, crime junkie researching, DIY'ing my entire house and trying to be an interior designer on the side {dreams}, and most of all living life to the fullest. I did do an ennegram test and it basically told me that I am a savage and relentless when it comes to things that I believe in. In other words, I am an 8.
That's all my wits could come up with. Now what are you waiting for- send me an inquiry and lets chat to see if we are a great fit!
STONEKING PHOTOGRAPHY
Fun fact, a common question I get from others is how I came up with my photography name. Apparently there is an actual art to coming up with a business name, but at the time, I didn't ever envision where this hobby would lead me to, so I named my business Stoneking Photography. After my last name. I know, so original, so boring. But it's true. I wish I could tell a profound story that makes me sound super artistic and clever, but in reality, it's just the name given to me through my marriage {to my very handsome stud of a husband}. And I am pretty proud of it. And him. And our three wonderful, beautiful children.
